Prof. Dr. Włodzimierz Borodziej was officially sworn into the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences on 11 June 2016.

Prof. Dr. Włodzimierz Borodziej was officially sworn into the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences on 11 June 2016. Borodziej, who is Co-Director of the Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena - 'Eastern Europe in the Twentieth Century: Comparative Historical Experience' at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and Professor of History at the University of Warsaw, was nominated to membership in the Humanities Class. 

The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences appoints members who have distinguished themselves by the excellence of their academic achievements. It currently has 173 Ordinary Members, 111 Emeritus Ordinary Members and 73 Extraordinary Members. Two persons hold Honorary Membership.
