The “PhD Start-up Workshop” is designed to support early-career researchers during a crucial phase of their academic careers. The workshop brings together international doctoral students from various fields of the humanities and social sciences as well as experienced researchers. We want to creating a space for intensive exchange regarding the participants’ dissertation projects and new research ideas. Through constructive feedback in an interdisciplinary setting, participants gain valuable insights to optimize and deepen their work.
In addition, the workshop offers a coaching session for doctoral researchers on academic writing and time management, equipping participants with practical tools to navigate the challenges of the PhD process more effectively.
This two-day event is a collaboration between the ZEIT Stiftung Bucerius, the Imre Kertész Kolleg at the University of Jena, the Invisible University for Ukraine, and the Virtual Ukrainian Institute of Advanced Studies, Berlin. It will take place on 16–17 April at the Griesbachsches Gartenhaus in Jena, offering a focused and collegial environment for scholarly dialogue.
