How does the Putin administration utilise, reinterpret and instrumentalise the past? This one-day student seminar invites participants to critically examine the historical narratives that have become of central importance to contemporary Russian politics. Students will work with selected primary sources and secondary literature and discuss how history becomes a resource for political identity, legitimacy and confrontation.
