Irina Scherbakowa is a historian and human rights activist. She is a founding member of the international human rights organisation MEMORIAL, where she was the director of the youth and education programms and a member of the International Memorial Board. Since 2022 Irina Scherbakowa has been chairwoman of Zukunft MEMORIAL, the then newly founded exile organization of MEMORIAL.
